Role description

Summary:

 

Al Zahra College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Female PDHPE Teacher to join our Secondary School team commencing 20 July 2026. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering effective, engaging, and evidence-based teaching and learning programs within the PDHPE and Sports Science Key Learning Areas. The role involves fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry skills while supporting student wellbeing, academic achievement, and the values of the College. Key Responsibilities

 

Teaching and Learning 

Teach PDHPE subject to Years 7 to 10.
Teach Sports Science to Years 11 and 12.
Deliver lessons in line with the IB and NESA curriculum.
Plan, assess, and report on student progress in accordance with College guidelines.
Conduct practical investigations safely and effectively.
Differentiate learning to meet individual student needs.
Integrate digital technologies to enhance learning.
Curriculum and Assessment 

Design and evaluate teaching programs aligned with NESA outcomes and IB criteria.
Develop learning materials that reflect current best practice in PDHPE, health literacy, and movement science.
Create and implement formative and summative assessments for both theory and practical outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of practical participation, skill progression, physical activity levels, and health learning.
Coordinate or contribute to fitness testing and physical activity assessments.
