Role description


The South Metropolitan Regional Education Office is seeking to appoint a Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) Coordinator to join their team.

The Role

The Principal Consultant, PEAC, provides strategic and educational leadership for the regional PEAC program, ensuring high-quality learning opportunities for gifted and talented Year 5 and 6 students. The role leads the design, delivery and continuous improvement of teaching and learning programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and coordinates the annual identification assessment process for Year 4 students. Working closely with the Assistant Director of Education, the Principal Consultant also supports broader gifted and talented initiatives, including professional learning for teachers, parent engagement and regional program development.

The position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans that drive student achievement and program excellence. This includes providing expert advice to senior leadership, leading innovation and change initiatives, and ensuring services are responsive to the educational needs of gifted and talented students across the region. The role also manages human, financial and physical resources to support effective program delivery and achieve identified priorities and outcomes.

In addition, the Principal Consultant oversees the administrative and operational functions of the PEAC team, including workforce planning, recruitment, staff development, performance management, resource allocation, timetabling and reporting. The role ensures compliance with relevant legisla…
