Role description


We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Vasse Primary School (PS) is an established and integral part of the Vasse community. Catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6, our staff are committed to providing a safe, creative and highly engaging learning environment, giving our students the skills and knowledge to become resilient, well balanced, lifelong learners.

Our school has been in its current location for over 155 years and maintains a rural feel, helped by its location and the number of trees and grassed areas. It has gone from a solitary building surrounded by farmland and bush to an ever-growing and evolving community.

The Role

As a Special Needs Education Assistant, suitable applicants will ideally use their excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teachers and other colleagues to create an inclusive education program that accommodates the needs of students. They should use initiative to support the delivery of planned education programs, using their understanding of differentiation and intervention strategies to assist students in accessing the curriculum. Experience in supporting students with diverse needs is highly desirable.
