Role description
Location Profile
Hughesdale Primary School was established in 1924 and is located in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne within the City of Monash. Our motto Aim High is reflected in the partnership between students, staff and parents. We have a strong focus on our Guiding Statements https://www.hughesdaleps.vic.edu.au/about-3 including our values of Resilience, Gratitude, Respect, Personal Best and Teamwork.
In 2026, our school caters for approximately 540 students within a 24 classroom model. We have 4 specialist teaching areas; Languages (French), Performing Arts (Drama & Music), Visual Arts and PE.
The Professional Learning Communities (PLC) model is implemented across each year level team supporting interrogation of student achievement data to inform teaching through and regular inquiry cycles. All members of staff are required to be life-long learners with the development of whole school pedagogy a priority for the teaching teams. Staff are supported by Learning Specialists and leaders who attend PLC planning sessions. The school has a strong focus on differentiation, personalised goal setting and rigour, to ensure all students are reaching their maximum potential.
We believe in building a community of learners recognising that all students have talents and abilities and learn best when fully engaged in a safe, nurturing and harmonious environment. Hughesdale Primary School is student-centred, characterised by a clear understanding that our role is to inspire and challenge all learners to have high expectations of themselves as global citizens in a sustainable world.
