Role description
Selection Criteria
This position is linked with the Community Hubs Australia Program.
SC 1 Demonstrated experience and skills in community development and coordinating community programs to support migrant families and their children.
SC 2 Demonstrated capacity to supervise the work of volunteers and external providers and to develop procedures and guidelines relating to the work area.
SC 3 Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, and the ability to liaise with all key stakeholders in a friendly and welcoming manner.
SC 4 Possess the technical knowledge and expertise to lead the Community Hub Program within the School.
SC 5 Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to the School Leadership and staff about building community partnerships and engagement.
SC 6 Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others, including the provision of relevant training opportunities for parents and migrant families.
Role
Community hubs are based in schools and collaborate with a support agency to engage with culturally diverse, disadvantaged communities across Australia. Every hub is different but works towards a common goal of building social cohesion in Australian communities through engaging culturally isolated families, building local connections and delivering formal and informal skills training.
