Selection Criteria
SC1. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience as an Occupational Therapist in delivering comprehensive occupational therapy services to children and young people, and the ability to apply these skills effectively within a primary school setting. SC2. Demonstrated ability to participate in and contribute to a collaborative team environment, developing positive and supportive professional relationships with staff, students, parents and carers, and providing advice and guidance to support student outcomes. SC3. Demonstrated highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult, collaborate with, and provide advice to teachers, Education Support (ES) staff, parents and carers, and external professionals in supporting students with additional needs. SC4. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive occupational therapy support and intervention programs within a school setting. Demonstrated capacity to provide specialist advice and recommendations regarding evidence-based intervention strategies, reasonable adjustments, and supports to meet the diverse needs of students, with implementation supported by teachers, ES staff, parents and carers, and relevant professionals. SC5. Demonstrated experience and capability in planning, implementing, and supporting reasonable adjustments for students with additional needs, including experience with the Disability Inclusion framework and participation in Disability Inclusion Profile meetings, or the capacity to rapidly develop expertise in these processes.
