Lurnea High School is a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school serving students in Years 7 to 12, located in Lurnea, NSW. The school's central focus is the provision of rich, accessible, flexible and creative learning experiences, underpinned by a growth mindset directed at increasing educational attainment for every student every year. The school offers a broad range of specialist support and programs to meet the diverse needs of its student population. These include high potential and gifted education, special education support, and English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) support. Restorative Practices are embedded across the school as a framework for building positive relationships and managing student wellbeing. Staffing structures reflect a strong investment in in-class support, with student learning support officers (SLSOs) deployed directly in classrooms alongside teachers. Dedicated learning and wellbeing support teams work alongside teaching staff to ensure students receive coordinated academic and pastoral care. Lurnea High School has developed meaningful external partnerships that extend learning beyond the classroom. Students benefit from university partnerships with Western Sydney University, UTS, and UNSW Art and Design Makerspaces, providing access to resources and experiences that connect school learning with higher education pathways. The school also maintains a connection with the Australian Business and Community Network, linking students with the broader professional community.
