The Role
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Student Support Officer (SSO) to join our team.
In this role, the successful applicant would assist in the coordination of the Student Support Program and contribute to the development and implementation of effective systems and intervention strategies that provide responsive, student-centred support for students, families and staff.
As SSO, some of your key responsibilities may include:
- Recording, collating and preparing data to inform and evaluate support strategies
- Working collaboratively with staff and families to strengthen student engagement and wellbeing
- Ensuring assessments are fair and accessible by evaluating individual student needs and facilitating reasonable adjustments in-line with regulatory requirements and inclusive education practices
- Applying effective assessment practices to monitor student progress and inform targeted interventions
- Exercising sound judgement and effective decision-making to support positive student outcomes
The successful applicant will ideally display:
- Experience modelling and delivering evidence-based literacy programs,
- Knowledge of curriculum across year levels and the ability to support differentiated learning
- Strong research, conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement practical, solution-focused strategies
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students and parents
Desirable Attributes
- Current First Aid certification
- Completion of Team Teach training
- Experience with Heggerty and Sounds-Write programs
