Southern River College (SRC) is seeking a dedicated, friendly and team focused School Officer – Relief Coordinator to join our professional team.

The Role

The School Officer - Relief Coordinator would play a critical role in ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the school. The successful applicant should be relational in their approach to this vital role. You would seek to always engage and support relief staff. 

The School Officer – Relief Coordinator role may include:

  • Sourcing additional relief staff through the Casual Staff Seeker as necessary
  • Processing payroll through Casual Staff Seeker and the Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS) systems
  • Scheduling and allocating internal relief duties
  • Processing relief payments and reconciling casual payments against staff leave
  • Assisting with staff timetabling and rostering processes
  • Assist with induction and support of school relief staff
  • Foster a supportive role during and after school with staff

The successful applicant will ideally have sound verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to undertake effective negotiations and build positive relationships with staff at all levels.

The successful applicant will be required to work from 7.15am – 3.15pm daily due to relief management.

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

    • Demonstrated experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
    • Demonstrated experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
    • Demonstrated ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
    • Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
    • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
