Description

We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant – Special Needs (EASN) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Nestled amongst the stunning Jarrah and Marri forests, and just minutes from the natural beauty of Lake Leschenaultia, Chidlow Primary School (PS) offers a unique blend of a peaceful rural setting with high-quality, modern education. Located fifty-five kilometres east of Perth, our school serves families from across Chidlow, Gidgegannup, Wooroloo, and The Lakes.

At Chidlow PS, every student is known, valued, and supported. With around 134 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 across six classes, our size allows us to maintain a strong sense of community while ensuring personalised learning. Our dedicated and professional staff are committed to developing the whole student, nurturing both academic success and student wellbeing.

The Role

Under limited guidance, suitable EASN would work under limited supervision and may be expected to participate within a team situation, offering advice and expertise relating to their relevant area. Education outcomes are determined by the teacher, or other professional, with the employee performing tasks which require discretion in problem solving, decision making, and choosing methods and processes to achieve outcomes. Performance of these tasks may require activities within or outside the school that result in supervision of students without the presence of a teacher.

The ideal applicants should possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to a professional team and provide advice and evaluation in the development of educational programs. Suitable applicants will ideally have strong organisational and team player skills to assist in the delivery and participation of educational programs.
