Description
We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Mainstream for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Highgate Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public-School catering to approximately 1000 Kindergarten to Year 6 students.

The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally possess the ability to assist in teaching literacy, numeracy, and social skills. You would be flexible and willing to collaborate, work in teams and use explicit teaching techniques. Under teacher direction, you will ideally implement individual or small group programs or demonstrations and assist in the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment and school resources, assisting the teacher with care and supervision of students during class activities and excursions, as well as assisting the teacher with the general care and wellbeing of the students

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
