This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2026

The Role
We are ideally seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and student-focused professionals who displays a genuine passion for inclusive education and a growth mindset. As a Special Needs Education Assistant - Auslan, you would join a committed team in delivering planned education programs and encouraging a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
This role may involve working alongside the teacher in supporting hard of hearing students as well as students with a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
- Mental health challenges
- Sensory processing disorders
- Behavioural and medical needs
- Students with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD)
Experience in sign language interpreting and preparing for interpreting by reviewing lesson materials and collaborating with teachers would be advantageous
The successful applicant should ideally display understanding of inclusive education and the ability to implement differentiated support strategies that meet the diverse needs of all learners. The successful applicant should ideally be flexible take initiative and be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic school environment. They should approach the management of challenging behaviours with confidence and empathy, fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive learning space.
A commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice is highly desirable, along with a proactive approach to supporting student wellbeing and maximising educational outcomes.
