The Role

Our vision at Riva PS is to imagine a better school, and then to become that better school, every day. A critical factor in achieving this vision for our students and community is the strength and impact of our Deputy Principals. They are dynamic, visible and relational leaders who work alongside staff, students and families to drive excellence in teaching and learning and improve outcomes for every student.

Our Deputy Principals embody our school values of Respect, Inclusion and Achievement. They lead with integrity, clarity and purpose, building a culture of high expectations, strong relationships and collective responsibility for student achievement and success.

We invite outstanding educational leaders to apply to join Riva PS as a Deputy Principal. You would bring a deep understanding of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, grounded in contemporary research and evidence-informed practice. You should be an instructional leader who can model, coach and develop effective teaching, using data and professional dialogue to strengthen classroom practice and maximise student achievement.

We are seeking highly effective coaches who foster professional growth in others and cultivate collaborative, achievement-focused teams. You would also support teachers to reflect on their impact, use evidence to evaluate performance and implement targeted strategies that improve student progress and engagement. You should also display the ability to think and act strategically, identifying innovative and practical solutions to challenges while maintaining a clear focus on teaching quality and student outcomes.

Suitable applicants should inspire a passion for learning in others, thrive in a high-performing and supportive environment, and be deeply committed to achieving the best possible education outcomes for every student.

We encourage you to consider joining our team as a Deputy Principal, contributing your leadership, expertise and passion to further strengthen expert teaching and ensure every student is known, supported and challenged to achieve their potential.
