Lowood State School is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Canteen Assistant to support the daily operations of our school lunch program.

This role is vital in ensuring students have access to nutritious, affordable meals in a safe and positive environment.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.39FTE), 30 hours per fortnight.

About the Role

As the Canteen Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of our school lunch program, ensuring students have access to nutritious and affordable meals in a safe and positive environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing quality customer service, including food preparation, counter service, and cleaning duties.
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for food preparation, storage, and handling.
  • Adhering to daily menu plans and food safety procedures.
  • Operating a cash register and managing transactions with client groups.
  • Reporting equipment malfunctions promptly and following Workplace Health and Safety practices.

This role would suit someone who is organised, enjoys working in a team, and is passionate about supporting children and families in a school setting.
