Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre; Custodial Operations; Spring Creek
The Southern Region Command, Custodial Operations Division is responsible for the delivery of custodial services across Queensland. People in custody are supervised in either high or low security correctional centres. High security centres provide for the management of adult prisoners held in secure custody correctional centres across Queensland.

The essential requirements for this role are:
• Experience in the design, delivery and review of vocational education and training programs
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to think on your feet when facilitating
• Confident facilitator with demonstrated ability successfully engages diverse groups of adult learners
• Contemporary knowledge of Vocational Education and Training, Assessment and adult learning and assessment principles
• Demonstrated ability to assess vocational education and training needs of prisoners as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), negotiation and conflict resolution skills,
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive professional working relationships with a group of diverse stakeholders including centre staff, external providers, community groups and visitors.
• Knowledge and application of applicable legislation, policies and procedures, including Workplace Health and Safety Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements
• To undertake the duties and requirements of this role applicants should hold a relevant trade qualification, trade certificate (or equivalent vocational qualifications) and industry experience in construction, engineering or hospitality.
• Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (current version) or equivalent qualification would be highly desirable. Candidates not possessing a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be required to achieve that qualification within 12 months.
