About the Role

The Youth Ministry and Liturgy Coordinator supports the Catholic life of the school by strengthening parish partnerships and engaging students in key faith initiatives, including World Youth Day, the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, Ignite Conference, and SCS Evangelisation Days.

As part of the Religious Education team, the role promotes the College’s Catholic identity and oversees the planning and delivery of major liturgical celebrations, contributing to the spiritual life of the school community. This full-time role is scheduled to commence on Monday, 23 March 2026 (or by negotiation).

To excel in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • strong and active commitment to the practice of the Catholic Faith, with a well-developed understanding of the evangelising and catechising mission of the Catholic Church
  • experience and skills in engaging young people into the diverse works of the Catholic Church
  • an understanding of the emerging approaches to youth ministry and evangelisation
  • commitment to and passion for events such as World Youth Day, the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, and Ignite Conference, as pilgrimages of faith for young people
  • commitment to participate in and contribute to a formation program facilitated by Sydney Catholic Schools
  • highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • group and teamwork facilitation skills
  • capacity to foster and strengthen relationships between the school and parish communities
  • excellent time management, organisational and administrative skills.

The successful candidate will also possess the following qualifications:

  • Category D Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead in systemic Catholic schools Archdiocese of Sydney Accreditation. Category E Accreditation desirable
  • is a Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community such as a parish or an established community within the Catholic Church, as an expression of your relationship with Jesus Christ
  • demonstrates the standard descriptors at lead teacher level, in accordance with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • post graduate units of study in leadership (advantageous). 

Desirable criteria:

  • has completed, or has evidence of, study toward a Graduate Diploma or Master of Religious Education or Theology.
