Role Details

• Replacement position/Job Share
• 15 hours per week – Thursday & Friday each week – 8.30am to 4.30pm per day
• Terms 2-4, term weeks only (28 weeks)

The Opportunity

Kildare College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic College Counsellor to join our wellbeing team. In this role, you will provide compassionate and professional wellbeing support to students across Years 7–12, working within a proactive, positive education framework that nurtures students’ strength, gentleness, agency, and resilience.

As a key member of the College’s Counselling Team, you will work collaboratively with the other Counsellor and in a job‑share arrangement, ensuring cohesive, consistent, and high‑quality support for all students.

Key responsibilities

• Provide confidential counselling and guidance to students who may be self, teacher or family referred.
• Lead small group, class, year level, staff, and family workshops, such as social and emotional skill development, Student Mentor Program, organisational skills and other programs.
• Develop behaviour intervention strategies for students to use in their interaction with teachers, peers and parents.
