Description

  • Provide evidence-based education speech pathology services to students, including assessment, intervention and consultation, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support educational outcomes.
  • Implement multi-tiered interventions at individual, class/group and school-wide levels with a focus on educator capacity building.
  • Deliver specialised professional advice and subject matter expertise to school leaders and teaching staff on communication, literacy and mealtime management needs and their impact on curriculum access and participation.
  • Work in partnership with teachers, families and allied health professionals to embed effective communication strategies across learning environments, including augmentative and alternative communication systems such as Proloquo, Proloquo2Go and PODD communication systems.
  • Work in collaboration with teachers and classroom educators to assess, monitor, and plan for evidence-based, differentiated literacy instruction using the Comprehensive Literacy approach.
  • Foster safe mealtime practices in the classroom, including writing, monitoring and reviewing student Oral Eating and Drinking Care Plans with high levels of collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support students across all curriculum areas, contributing to assessment, reporting and the development of individualised programs, student profiles and targeted intervention plans.
  • Adapt resources, learning programs and intervention strategies to meet the complex needs of students with disabilities, promoting safe, supportive and inclusive learning environments.
