The Opportunity

Xavier College is seeking skilled and motivated Property Services staff to join our Facilities team on a permanent, full-time basis, commencing as soon as possible. Working across multiple campuses and reporting to the Facilities Operations Manager, these roles offer variety, stability and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the life of the College.

• Property Services Officer (ESO Grade 2)

• Property Services Team Member (ESO Grade 3)

Property Services Officer (ESO Grade 2)

The Property Services Officer supports the effective maintenance of College buildings, grounds and facilities by undertaking a range of routine and non-routine maintenance and grounds tasks. Working under general supervision, this role focuses on hands-on maintenance, grounds care, safe operation of plant and equipment, and supporting contractors to ensure facilities are safe, functional and compliant with WHS requirements.

Property Services Team Member (ESO Grade 3)

The Property Services Team Member is responsible for coordinating and supervising property services functions within a designated area of responsibility across the College. This role applies advanced trade and technical skills to maintenance and grounds activities, supports building and maintenance projects, oversees contractors, contributes to operational planning, and ensures College facilities, infrastructure and grounds are maintained to a high standard in line with WHS and compliance requirements.

About You

You are a capable, organised and safety-focused property services professional who can work with initiative while remaining responsive to direction. You take pride in high-quality workmanship, understand the importance of compliance and confidentiality, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a school environment.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Experience in building, grounds and facilities maintenance

• Practical trade, technical or horticultural skills relevant to the role level

• Ability to plan, prioritise and complete tasks efficiently

• Well-developed problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• A commitment to professional standards and safe work practices

Mandatory qualifications, skills or requirements include:

• Depending on role level, applicants will hold or be willing to obtain:

  • Certificate III or Certificate IV accredited trade qualification (e.g. horticulture, plumbing, carpentry, electrical or similar). Please view the relevant Position Information Document.

  • White Card

  • Working at Heights training

  • Manual Handling training

  • Safe Chainsaw Operation

  • Herbicide / Pesticide training

  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

  • Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings certification

  • First Aid qualification
