Role description
Are you looking for an opportunity to lead in a Western Australian public school?
We are establishing a pool of eligible and highly motivated individuals to fill short term principal vacancies in WA public schools across the state. The pool may be used to fill vacancies of up to six months in duration.
If you are a qualified teacher, this level 5 Principal pool is an opportunity for you to express interest in short term Principal appointments in Western Australia’s public schools.
Whether you are starting a career path in leadership, seeking new acting opportunities or returning to the workforce, we encourage you to apply.
A Level 5 Principal is appointed to the following types of schools:
- Primary schools with 301 to 700 students
- District High Schools with 150 to 450 students
- Education Support schools with more than 80 students
Appointments from the Pool
Directors of Education may consider eligible applicants for short term principal appointments up to 6 months by matching your skills, experience and location preferences to their vacancy.
You may be contacted by a Director of Education to discuss your suitability for a specific vacancy or to discuss your suitability for future opportunities. Your referees may be contacted to verify your skills and experience.
If you are currently a permanent employee with the Department, your current line manager will need to approve your release before you can accept a fixed term placement at another school.
Please note, in some circumstances, where the needs of the school are best met by doing so, the initial 6 month appointment may be extended.
