South Hedland Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School, proudly catering to a diverse student population of approximately 240 students, with 56% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Our school is well-regarded within the community for its strong sense of care and connection, providing a highly supportive learning environment built on positive relationships.

Our educational focus is firmly grounded in literacy, numeracy, attendance, and behaviour. We deliver consistent, high-quality teaching through the Explicit Direct Instruction model and promote positive student conduct using the Positive Behaviour Support framework. To encourage regular attendance, our dedicated School-Based Attendance Officer works alongside staff to implement proactive strategies and support processes.
