Education Business Services (EBS) is the primary provider of professional business services and operational support to Western Australian public schools, statutory boards and departmental divisions. Its core service areas include finance, information and communication technologies (ICT), and infrastructure, with a strong focus on enhancing organisational capability, efficiency and service responsiveness. EBS operates under clear service delivery principles of being responsive, flexible, transparent, accountable and collaborative to ensure consistent, high-quality support that contributes to effective educational outcomes.

Within EBS, the ICT function delivers system-wide technical services and strategic initiatives that enable schools to operate independently while remaining connected within a broader departmental framework. The Integration, Build and Deployment directorate is responsible for the design, development, security implementation, testing, integration and maintenance of technical solutions to meet organisational needs. The HR Systems team manages and maintains the Department’s Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) and related platforms, ensuring system integrity, payroll processing accuracy, data reliability and ongoing enhancements, while providing specialist support and problem resolution to business areas and users.
