We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistant’s for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

As Special Needs Education Assistant, you would work under teaching direction in assisting the implementation of specialised education programs such as occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy programs

Special Needs Education Assistant supports the Department’s main objective of teaching and learning of students through assisting the teacher in delivering planned education programs and encouraging a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Suitable applicants may provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process and assist the teacher or therapist to understand when there is a communication difficulty between them and a student.
