Position Information
Guildford West Public School is a vibrant and inclusive community currently catering for Preschool to Year 6, and, soon, an on-site preschool. With over 380 students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, our school proudly embraces inclusivity through our mainstream, support unit, and opportunity classes.
At Guildford West, we’re more than just a school; we’re a caring, welcoming community where every child is known, valued, and inspired to thrive. Staff rigorously analyse student data to inform teaching and learning and implement high-quality, evidence-based, explicit teaching practices in literacy and numeracy. A culture of collaborative practice is embedded across the school, with staff striving to improve student learning outcomes by developing their own teaching practice.
This is a classroom teacher position focused on teaching and supporting HPGE in the classroom and across the school, including the Opportunity classroom.
Selection Criteria
Approval to teach K-6 with demonstrated strong knowledge to teach, collaboratively plan and support students across the school as an HPGE specialist, with a clear understanding of the purpose and value of extension classes.
Proven ability to assess and analyse data effectively to identify, address, and plan differentiated programs that challenge and stimulate advanced learners within the classroom setting of high-potential and gifted students across all four domains.
Demonstrated effective classroom management skills that promote an engaging and inclusive learning environment, fostering relationships with students, staff, families, and external agencies.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
