Temporary Aew3 - Aboriginal Community Education Officer

Meningie Area School is an R-12 school catering for an enrolment of approximately 30% Aboriginal students, most are from the Ngarrindjeri communities of Meningie and Raukkan. Students transition into Reception from Meningie Kindergarten and into Year 7 from Raukkan Aboriginal school. The school has an Aboriginal Education Team with 4 staff (including the ACEO) who work together to support students to engage positively in their schooling. The school has a Ngarrindjeri language program for Aboriginal students R-12 with the Year 11 and 12 year levels gaining SACE accreditation. There is a Junior Rangers program providing a cultural program for middle years students and a range of experiences for students including the annual STEM conference.
Please note the salary amount may differ from that advertised. Salary is dependent upon your current employment status with the Department for Education, tenure and hours per week. The salary stated is based on an employee working 52 weeks per annum, full time equivalent. The successful applicant will be employed under the appropriate mode of employment.
