Your role
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
- Modelling reading lessons across the school, coaching our staff in the implementation of the Science of Reading
- Development of key artefacts used as a Handbook of Reading teaching practices at school
- Play a support role in delivering the vision of the department to coordinate required programs in schools to improve the educational outcomes of students
- Work collaboratively with teachers and provide experience to Heads of Program positions by identifying resources and strategies to deliver outcomes
Requirements
- Must have significant skills and experience in the the Science of Reading, working with small groups, teachers, teacher aides as well as liaising with the leadership team to drive forward the whole school priority
- Must have a solid understanding of teaching students with severe disabilities across a wide spectrum of needs
- Experience in special school advantageous but not necessary
