Description
Siena College is seeking to appoint a Casual Fixed Term Guitar Teacher, commencing 12 May to the end of Term 3, 2026. The role includes teaching acoustic and electric guitar in small group and private lessons, as well as directing lunchtime Guitar Ensembles. This position replaces the current teacher who will be on leave.
This casual position is for two days per week. Preferred teaching days are Monday and Tuesday. The successful applicant will also be involved in College concerts, Music Residency, workshops and other activities as requested by the Director of Music.
Working within the Siena College Music Department, the Guitar Teacher will be part of a team of instrumental specialists, with a key objective of retaining and expanding guitar enrolments, promoting guitar performance opportunities, and contributing to the overall growth of the Instrumental Music program.
The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate their ability to:
- teach beginner and intermediate guitar students through to VCE Music
- develop students’ musical understanding through the study of repertoire and theory
- support the objectives of the College’s ensemble program
- maintain effective communication and administrative practices
VIT Teacher Registration or a Working with Children Check and National Police check are required before commencing the position.
