Position Information
Prairiewood High School is a Year 7 to 12 comprehensive, co–educational and partially academically selective school of 1300 students. The school caters for a diverse student population with 1% of Aboriginal students and 87% of students from a wide range of non–English speaking backgrounds, including over 100 refugee students. The school has four Special Education classes. There are 60 academically selective students in each year group. The school is committed to extending its students within a culture that values excellence in teaching and learning; offers students and staff rich and innovative opportunities for learning and leadership, and actively promotes wellbeing and positive relationships. Selection Criteria
1.Approval to teach Chemistry and Biology.
2.Capacity to implement explicit teaching strategies and contribute to differentiated programs that maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all learners.
3.Strong classroom management skills and the ability to implement wellbeing practices that create an engaging learning environment for all learners.
4.Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, parents and the wider community to improve student learning outcomes.
