Position Information
Yanco Agricultural High School is a selective, co-educational, fully residential school with a 2026 student enrolment of 337 students who reside across all of New South Wales and in some cases interstate. Located in the New South Wales Riverina, 12 kilometres from Leeton, the school has 280 hectares, including 180 hectares of intensive irrigation and dry land agriculture and is bordered by the Murrumbidgee River.
On the school grounds students have access to tennis courts, a gymnasium, swimming pool, 10 hectares of sporting ovals, after-hours library and resource centre, as well as a host of individual and team activities at school and in the local community. The school has outstanding agricultural facilities and is a leader in agricultural education. Programs include show stock teams in sheep, beef cattle, equine and poultry who travel extensively and provide additional opportunities for students to excel in this area of interest.
The school has a diverse range of staff who support both the day and residential component of the school. The School Excellence Plan identifies a focus on enhancing educational aspiration, improving literacy and numeracy skills, student wellbeing, excellence in Agriculture, as well as staff collaboration and professional learning. Teaching staff are required to be part of a residential supervision roster, in which an additional allowance is paid.
