About the Role
As Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities include:
- Lead the development, implementation and review of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and adjustments.
- Lead the development, implementation and review of Multi Tiered Systems of Support.
- Provide expert advice and coaching/mentoring to staff on differentiation, Universal Design for Learning and inclusive practices.
- Coordinate NCCD processes and ensure accurate documentation and compliance.
- Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff and specialist services to build collective capability.
- Partner with families and external agencies to support positive student outcomes.
Contribute as a member of the school leadership team to support whole-school improvement priorities.
Skills and Experience:
- We are looking for our next Head of Special Education Services to have:
- Experience supporting students with disability and diverse learning needs.
- Strong knowledge of inclusive education and reasonable adjustments.
- Proven ability to lead, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a HOSES or similar leadership role.
- Qualifications or training in special education or inclusive practice.
