Expressions of Interest are invited for the flagship Middle Leader program.

This is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

The Education Futures Institute delivers a suite of flagship programs that are comprehensive professional learning experiences targeted to career junctures. Program design is underpinned by professional standards and contemporary research aligned to the Department of Education's current and emerging strategic priorities and workforce needs. Programs aim to empower Queensland state school staff, educators and leaders and will be co-designed and delivered with internal and external partners, including academic, tertiary and industry leaders.

The flagship Middle Leader Program provides participants with the opportunity to develop their expertise in leading improvement through contemporary educational research, contextualised leadership experiences and professional networks and mentoring opportunities.

Over the 12-month duration of the program, participants will engage in face-to-face intensive phases, mentoring (including site visits), network learning opportunities and self-paced learning modules. Successful applicants will commence the program in Term 3, 2026.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Applicants must be permanent teachers, currently classified as a school-based middle leader (Heads of Program Stream 2) with the Queensland Department of Education.
