Your Opportunity:

As the Head of Special Education Services your leadership will address the following:

  • Culture and Inclusion - model, mentor and build capacity of all staff to apply inclusive classroom practices
  • Strategic and Data -Informed Leadership - Level of Achievement, PLR's, NCCD,
  • Leadership of Relational Pedagogy and Positive School Culture
  • Whole school support - ensuring that every student regardless of disability receives targeted support for their learning

The Head of Special Education Services reports to the Principal.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead and coordinate the Special Education and/or Early Childhood Development Program to deliver high-quality advice, targeted teaching, and support for students with disability.
  • Provide expert guidance to the school leadership team, classroom teachers, and staff to plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments and inclusive practices.
  • Coordinate case management and intensive interventions for students requiring substantial or extensive adjustments, including access to specialist services and supports.
  • Develop and oversee school-wide systems, including data collection and monitoring processes (e.g., Nationally Consistent Collection of Data), to track and support students with disability.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, external agencies, and community groups, while managing human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources to achieve school goals.
