Mount Surprise State School is seeking a reliable and hardworking temporary cleaner to join our team.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.29FTE), 22 hours per fortnight.

About the School

Mount Surprise State School is located in a remote community in far north Queensland. About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Cleaner to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of our school by maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

• Cleaning and sanitising classrooms, toilet facilities, and common areas.
• Maintaining and cleaning equipment and ensuring proper storage.
• Performing tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
• Managing waste disposal and ensuring the cleanliness of outdoor areas.
• Reporting safety or maintenance concerns to the Principal or Business Manager.

This role would suit someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

• Previous experience in cleaning or maintenance roles (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills for liaising with school staff.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety practices (advantageous).
