What we are looking for

We are currently seeking a qualified PO2/PO3 Social Worker (1.2 FTE across multiple school sites) to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team across the Metropolitan North Region, with appointment based on your relevant experience and qualifications. In this specialist role, you will provide therapeutic intervention and case management support to students experiencing mild-to-moderate mental health concerns, making a meaningful impact on young people's wellbeing while working collaboratively within a supportive, professional environment.

Responsibilities include

Responsibilities include:

  • Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Deliver individual and group interventions to students which address mental health concerns
  • Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning, and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom
  • Develop referral and case management processes to support delivery of the service
  • Coordinate referrals to external agencies, and work collaboratively with external networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students
  • Provide advice and assistance to families to support the mental health of students
  • Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team
