We are seeking a detail-oriented Curriculum Writer to assist with the development of engaging, rigorous, and learner-centred literacy and numeracy curriculum materials aligned with the Cert of General Education for Adults (CGEA). The Course in Initial, Introductory, Cert I and Cert II qualifications play a vital role in strengthening literacy and numeracy skills for disengaged and at-risk youth across Queensland, empowering youth to see themselves as learners, participate within their communities, access further education pathways and pursue meaningful employment opportunities. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Lead Curriculum writer, subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to create structured training materials, assessment tools, and instructional resources that are pedagogically sound, accessible, and responsive to diverse learners. You will demonstrate a proven track record in literacy and/or numeracy curriculum design and development, exceptional word processing capability, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

QETC is a multi-campus Department of Education school operating within South-East Queensland's Youth Detention Centres. We provide educational services to students who are either on remand or serving sentences. We play a critical role in supporting young people in detention to develop the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to make positive life choices and pursue constructive futures. Through our external facing RTO, Vocational Training Queensland (VTQ) you will be based at our Oxley precinct, working alongside the curriculum development and VTQ teams.

Key Responsibilities you will bring
•    Design, develop, and update literacy and numeracy course content, assessments, and learning resources.
•    Translate complex subject matter into clear, engaging, and effective learning experiences.
•    Collaborate with the curriculum team to ensure all materials meet compliance, accessibility, and organisational standards.
•    Identify and implement opportunities to enhance learning products and delivery models.
•    Excellent communication, documentation, and word-processing skills.
•    Familiarity with vocational training frameworks (desirable).
