Head of Special Education Services (H01) - Ironside State School - Special Education Program

An exciting opportunity exists at Ironside State School as the Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) in a permanent, full-time capacity. You will possess strong knowledge of inclusive education and behavioural engagement support, applying a trauma-informed approach to managing complex student cases. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, working in genuine partnership with families and external agencies. Your leadership will support and inspire staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning while fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support through the Special Education and/or Early Childhood Development Program, ensuring effective services for students with disability.
• Provide expert guidance to the leadership team and staff, supporting the development and implementation of reasonable adjustments and inclusive practices.
• Coordinate intensive targeted teaching and case management for students requiring substantial or extensive adjustments.
• Establish and oversee school-wide systems, including data processes and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data, to monitor and support students with disability.
• Build strong partnerships with parents, agencies, and community groups while effectively managing human, financial, facility, and curriculum resources to achieve program goals.
