Metropolitan South Region is seeking applications for the role of Principal Education Officer, Student Services, to join our team. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of inclusive schooling practices, with a strong focus on enhancing capacity-building methodologies and supporting the professional learning needs of specialist staff.

Key Responsibilities Include

Responsibilities of your new role include:

  • Develop, monitor and promote capacity building systems and programs to support inclusive schooling practices for students with diverse learning needs including, but not limited to, students with disabilities, learning difficulties, giftedness, socio economic disadvantage, cultural and linguistic diversity, or social emotional disorders.
  • Provide strategic and operational advice to the regional leaders to develop strategic partnerships with school communities, clusters of schools, community organisations, and government agencies to ensure that all students achieve quality educational outcomes.
  • Provide strategic advice to regional leaders to assist in the planning of regional facilities and resources to facilitate the equitable delivery of services to students with diverse learning needs across the region
  • Prepare complex reports, submissions, briefs, memoranda and correspondence relating to sensitive issues across the Region.
  • Provide professional support and guidance to professional groups such as Heads of Special Education Services, and Advisory (Visiting) Teachers.

The successful applicant will be based at the Mount Gravatt or Ipswich Regional Office.

A current driver's licence is required, as travel throughout the region is an essential part of the role.
