Casual Learning Support School Assistants – Primary and Secondary
Join our team of Casual Learning Support Assistants and help make a positive impact in ACT public school communities.
We are seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals to assist school leaders and teachers, contribute to inclusive classroom environments and provide practical support to help students succeed.
This flexible, school‑hours role offers valuable experience in (kindergarten to year 6) and secondary (years 7-10) and college (years 11-12) settings.

About the role:
As a Casual Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support individual students and small groups with classroom activities
- Assist teachers with learning and engagement tasks
- Help maintain positive, inclusive learning spaces
- Contribute to student participation and wellbeing
What we’re looking for:
- Relevant qualifications such as Certificate IV in Education Support (desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A caring, student‑centred approach, along with a genuine interest in supporting children and young people in their learning.
- An understanding of diverse learning needs, including how to assist students who require additional support or extension.
- Effective teamwork and reliability, with good organisational and time‑management skills.
- An approachable personality and a professional attitude in a school environment.
Eligibility requirements for employment:
To be eligible to be employed in an ACT public school, you must have:
- Valid ACT Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration (or eligibility to apply)
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid working visa.
