Burnside State High School is seeking a highly organised, innovative, and professional Business Manager to join our school community.

This role provides high-level administrative, financial, human resource, and facilities support to the Principal and plays a key role in ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the school.

As Business Manager, you will lead across financial management, human resources, facilities, and administrative services while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence in a dynamic school environment.

This position is temporary full-time, from 20 April 2026 to 26 June 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Provide strategic advice and support to the Principal and school leadership team
  • Lead and manage administrative and corporate service functions across the school
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting processes
  • Manage human resource functions for school support staff, including recruitment, workforce planning, performance management and professional development
  • Coordinate facilities and asset management, including minor works and maintenance projects
  • Implement efficient business processes and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with staff, stakeholders and community partners
  • Lead organisational change and support high-quality service delivery across the school

About You

We are seeking a professional who demonstrates:

  • Strategic thinking and sound decision-making skill
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment

  • Experience in business, financial, human resource or corporate services management (desirable)
