The ability to develop positive relationships and work therapeutically with adolescents experiencing psychological, behavioural and mental health issues.
The ability to deliver a comprehensive psychology service to schools, including psychological assessments, counselling and referral for students and families.
Proven capacity to work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary professional team
and contribute significantly to the achievements of the team.
Highly developed communication, teamwork skills and interpersonal skills.

To provide therapeutic counselling services for students experiencing psychological, behavioural and mental health issues, and communicate with parents and staff where appropriate.
Undertake psychosocial assessments and provide information to clients, staff and parents regarding steps to assist the development of the client.
Advise and assist staff and school administration in developing relevant policies, and providing relevant professional development for staff.
Responsibilities
The role of Mental Health Practitioner at Alexandra SC is 3 term contract at 0.4 EFT (2 days per week).
The MHP will work within a multidisciplinary team setting and is expected to provide therapeutic support and consultation for students, parents and staff. The Wellbeing Team consists of a Wellbeing Coordinator, Chaplain, School Nurse, Family Engagement Officer and other sessional clinicians.
