We are seeking a Learning & Wellbeing Asst. to join us in our Dynamic Learning College – Gosford campus, commencing Term 2! The role is for Monday- Friday 8 am – 3:30 pm.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role takes direction from the Head of Campus in providing support within the classroom environment for small groups or individual students. This position is a member of the campus team.

Specifically, this role will:

  • Accurately document interventions and support provided to students throughout the day.
  • Reinforce appropriate behaviours and social skills in the classroom.
  • Assist the Classroom Teacher in implementing adjustments documented in student’s individual learning plans to achieve their goals.
  • Assist with providing students with the opportunity to develop personal, social and independent learning skills.
  • Assists with the creation of classroom resources and displays.
  • Maintains tidiness and cleanliness in the classroom and other learning spaces.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Practices an authentic Christian faith so they can pray for and with students, share their faith and guide students in their care within a Christian worldview.
  • Passionate about Christian schooling.
  • Holds a Certificate III in Education Support.
  • Displays qualities of a committed and growing Christian who is an active church member.
  • Displays discretion, confidentiality, honesty and integrity.
  • Prepared to contribute to the extracurricular life of the College, regardless of their normal role within the College.
  • Proactive in their support of providing a child-safe community.
  • Must hold a current NSW Working With Children Check.

The following will add great value to your qualifications for this position:

  • Assist in providing a confidential and professional counselling service to students for a wide range of issues, including:  academic, social and emotional.
  • Experience working with a range of software platforms and devices.
  • A qualification in a related discipline is desirable.
