Description
Shellharbour Anglican College is seeking an enthusiastic, qualified and dynamic Christian Teacher for our Junior School Diverse Learning team. The position will provide educational, social and emotional support to students across the College. This position is 0.4FTE (2 days/week) to commence as soon as able. This role will be based in the Junior School, reporting to the Coordinator of Academic Care and will work collaboratively as part of the broader team with Diverse Learning teachers and teachers’ aides. The P-12 Diverse Learning team provides support and guidance to staff in the development and implementation of appropriate programs that support the whole spectrum of learning needs including students requiring support, those with high academic potential and those who are twice exceptional.
The role will be underpinned by a collaborative and consultative approach so that the student and/or their parent or carer are actively involved in the student’s education.

You will demonstrate passion for teaching and learning as well as for differentiated learning and assessment that caters to the individual needs of all students. A willingness to be flexible in approaches to learning, including exploring evidence-based and innovative pedagogies and new approaches to the teaching of students who require learning support, or are high potential / gifted or twice exceptional is essential.
You will have an exceptional understanding and knowledge of the Disability Standards for Education 2005 and the ability to encourage and inspire students in their love of learning. Skills and experience in using a range of diagnostic testing is also crucial in the role to support student success. You will have a proven track record in helping students grow in their learning outcomes and sense of wellbeing and using digital technology for student and teacher learning.
