Role description
St Columba’s Memorial has an exciting opportunity for an Education Support Officer to join us.
As a member of our ESO team, you'll play a vital role in supporting teachers and fostering a positive learning environment for all students. If you are passionate about education, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with students, we encourage you to apply.
The successful candidate will need to work at least 3 days per week between 8:45 am and 3:00 pm from 20 July to 25 September. An Early start date is appreciated.
Key responsibilities include:
As our Education Support Officer at St Columba’s Memorial, you will:
- Build strong connections with students who have diverse learning needs, guiding and supporting them throughout their secondary education.
- Support students with additional needs to thrive in the classroom.
- Build professional relationships with staff, collaborating to support student learning.
- Engage in school life by accompanying students on events, excursions, and camps.
- Provide yard duty support to teachers in accordance with school procedures.
- Assist teachers with the care and supervision of students during excursions, sports days, activities and other classroom or educational activities.
- Actively participate in school activities, events, staff and team meetings, required training, professional development and professional reviews.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the principal.
