Role description

Term 3 Short-Term Contract (6 Weeks, Full-Time)

Waverley College is a vibrant learning community of approximately 1,500 students. We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive TAS Assistant to join our dynamic Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) department for a full-time, 6-week contract during Term 3, 2026. This short-term position will commence on Monday, 20 July 2026 and conclude on Friday, 28 August 2026.

In this vital role, you will ensure our workshops remain safe, organised, and efficient, while directly supporting students as they bring their creative concepts and Year 12 Major Projects to life. From maintaining traditional woodwork machinery to operating advanced 3D printers and CNC routers, and even tending to our Agriculture plot, no two days will be the same!

As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, Waverley College seeks applicants who are supportive of the Catholic ethos and values that underpin our community.

In order to be successful in this role you will have:

  • Trade or Workshop Expertise: Demonstrated experience working safely with timber, metals, plastics, and electronics.
  • Machinery Competency: High proficiency with drop saws, table saws, drill presses, disc/belt sanders, routers, and vacuum forming presses.
  • Digital & CAM Literacy: Strong computer literacy (Mac & PC) with experience in Adobe Suite, Autodesk Suite, and CAM software (3D printing and laser cutting software).
  • Electronics: Basic understanding of electrical circuits, logic circuits, and soldering.
