Role description

We are seeking an outstanding and accomplished Secondary Music Teacher to join our distinguished teaching community. You will inspire students to explore music theory, history, composition, and performance, helping them develop a deep understanding and appreciation of music across all year levels. You will join a supportive and collaborative Performing Arts Faculty, committed to high-impact teaching and continuous professional growth. This role is a Permanent Full-Time position and will commence on Monday 20 July 2026 or by negotiation.

The Performing Arts Faculty at St Patrick's College is passionate about the study of music forms, styles and ideas, enabling young people to develop an interest in appreciation and enjoyment of music. Through critical reflection and acquiring understanding, knowledge and skills, students respond by creatively developing their own musical ideas, compositions and performances, to grow, develop and succeed as musicians and young men. 

Essential Criteria 

  • A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice. 
  • Qualified to teach Music (Stage 3 to Stage 6) with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
  • Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.
  • Demonstrates effective classroom management through clear expectations, proactive behaviour strategies, and fostering a positive learning environment.
