Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences

We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Aveley Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and is a large secondary school catering for Year 7 to 12 in Perth’s Swan Valley. The College is recognised as a school of choice with high expectations and standards, a progressive approach and a commitment to excellence.

Teaching and learning at the College are a focus (with Explicit Direct Instruction the signature pedagogy) supported by a rigorous behaviour curriculum and systems to support conditions for learning in the classroom. Aveley SC's collaborative approach to pedagogy has been recognised as best practice through the Grattan Institute and teaching staff have been filmed by the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) as examples of best practice and were a finalist in the WA Education Awards for Teaching and Learning. A central feature of the college is strong teams with an extensive repertoire of curriculum resources.
