Role description


This is a 6 month fixed term, part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026

Warnbro Primary School is an outer suburban school situated near the white sands and calm blue waters of Warnbro Beach. We are an Independent Public School catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Established in 1973, we have a rich history, and traditions that span over 50 years. Our community serves approximately 265 students.

The Role

The Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO) is a support role that assists teachers in delivering planned education programs and encouraging a supportive and inclusive learning environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

The AIEO acts as a liaison between the community and school to develop an educational program relevant to both educational and cultural needs. They also provide mentoring and pastoral care to encourage participation and achievement at school, and provide support and advice to schools and teachers on the management program of students at risk.
