Role Requirements

At Chevalier College, teachers strategically work in teams to collaboratively plan, prepare, teach, assess and evaluate student learning. As such, the Teacher of Junior Visual Arts will be required to: 

  • support and assist the mission of Catholic education in the way of Jules Chevalier and the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC)
  • see themselves as learners and be committed to ongoing professional learning
  • work collaboratively with other teachers to design learning experiences where students exercise choice to demonstrate knowledge and understanding
  • enhance social skills and nurture the growth of enterprise skills including learner agency, self-regulated learning, critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration for each student
  • use summative data and formative data, including observations, annotations and work samples, to inform ‘next steps’ for key learning outcomes
  • demonstrate deep understanding of curriculum which informs subject disciplinary knowledge
