About the Role
St Matthew’s Catholic School, Mudgee is seeking a dedicated and practical Agriculture Assistant to join our team. This role plays a vital part in supporting the day-to-day operation, presentation, and safety of our school grounds and Agriculture facilities.

Working closely with the Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor and Agriculture teaching staff, the Agriculture Assistant is responsible for maintaining school grounds, gardens, paddocks and agricultural facilities, while also assisting with livestock care and practical Agriculture class activities.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and values contributing to a Christ-centred school community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining school grounds, gardens, fences and paddocks to a high standard
• Planning, scheduling and undertaking gardening and grounds maintenance tasks
• Supporting the care, feeding and watering of livestock and Agriculture facilities
• Assisting with practical Agriculture classes and activities
• Ensuring safe, efficient rubbish and recycling removal across the school site
• Maintaining the overall presentation and aesthetics of the school environment
• Upholding workplace health and safety standards and assisting with emergency procedures
• Working collaboratively with staff and contributing positively to school life
