Role description
YEAR 1 / 2 CLASSROOM TEACHER
This position is for a Year 1/2 class at North Ingle School for Terms 3 and 4, within a diverse and inclusive learning community with a strong commitment to equity, wellbeing and high-quality teaching and learning. As an Index of Educational Disadvantage (IoD) Category 5 school, North Ingle School values inclusive practices that support all students to achieve success. Students come from a broad range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds and present with diverse learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to implement inclusive teaching practices, effectively manage challenging behaviours, and create safe, supportive and engaging learning environments that enable all students to access learning and experience success.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong understanding of early years literacy and numeracy instruction, including explicit teaching practices aligned to the Science of Reading and evidence-based approaches to mathematics. North Ingle School has a strong commitment to systematic synthetic phonics instruction using the Department for Education (DfE) Phonics Scope and Sequence framework to support the development of foundational literacy skills.
